2025 Thoughtful Day of Giving

Holton Community Hospital continues to bring in top notch care, providers, and equipment thanks to all the support we receive. With this ongoing support, we are able to strive to keep our patients local and to provide the upmost best care possible.

Specific Need

Without the incredible generosity of our donors, the purchase of much-needed equipment for Holton Community Hospital simply would not be possible. Every gift helps bring in vital resources that not only strengthen our hospital but also directly improve the health and well-being of the community we proudly serve. Beyond equipment, your support also provides opportunities for our staff to expand their skills, knowledge, and proficiency—ensuring exceptional care for every patient who walks through our doors. We are deeply grateful for your continued commitment and extend a heartfelt thank you to those who have donated, and continue to donate, to the Foundation. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier future for our community.

Thank you for your continued support

The Holton Community Hospital Foundation is honored to be part of this year’s Thoughtful Day of Giving! Our mission is simple yet powerful—to raise awareness of the hospital’s needs and provide vital resources that help deliver exceptional care close to home. Because at Holton Community Hospital, we believe in keeping patients local, surrounded by the comfort of their families and community.

Since our founding in 2016, the Foundation has proudly supported building renovations, facility expansions, and critical equipment purchases. These investments, made possible by the generosity of our donors, have strengthened not only the hospital but also the health and vitality of our entire community.

We invite you to join us in making a difference. Your donation ensures that our hospital can continue to provide outstanding, compassionate care today and for generations to come. Together, we are building a healthier, stronger community—and we are so grateful for your support!

Fun Fact: The building expansion allowed for the growth of the Emergency Room as well. From a tiny one room split to multiple private spaces!

See below for a 2024 recap of how funds throughout the year were utilized:

The Resona Mindray i9 Ultrasound Machine

  • A high-performance imaging device designed to deliver advanced, precise imaging for accurate diagnostics. This machine is equipped with cutting-edge technology that enhances image clarity, allowing healthcare professionals to make more reliable diagnoses and improve patient care. With this ultrasound machine, Holton Community Hospital can provide top-tier imaging services locally, reducing the need for patients to travel for high-quality diagnostics.

  • Transportation coupon books from General Transportation

    • These books from General Transportation are used to assist patients who encounter challenges getting to and from medical appointments. This initiative addresses the difficulty of requesting formal assistance for each ride, especially considering the low cost of these trips, typically ranging from $2 to $5. By offering these coupon books, the Foundation ensures that patients can access the care they need without the added stress of transportation costs,

  • Blanket and IV fluid warmer for the Surgery Department

    • This blanket helps to enhance patient comfort and safety. This equipment helps maintain body temperature during surgical procedures, reducing the risk of hypothermia and promoting a faster, more comfortable recovery. By keeping blankets and fluids warm and ready, we’re able to offer patients a more positive surgical experience and better overall care.

  • The Hometown Heart Fund

    • This fund provides critical support to local patients by assisting with essential needs such as pharmacy costs, transportation, durable medical equipment (DME), and no-cost mammograms. Designed to alleviate barriers to healthcare access, the fund ensures that individuals facing financial hardships can access essential resources. By covering these costs, the Hometown Heart Fund plays a vital role in supporting our community members’ health and quality of life. This comprehensive assistance reflects our commitment to promoting health equity and supporting those who need it most.

  • The Stronger Together Butterfly Mural on Holton Community Theatre

    • The mural is a vibrant and uplifting symbol for our community, created to raise awareness for mental health and all forms of cancer. Centered around the image of a butterfly, it reflects resilience, growth, and the transformative journeys many experience in times of struggle. Just as a butterfly emerges beautifully after a period of transformation, individuals in our community find strength, hope, and renewal in their own battles. This mural serves as a daily reminder that we are all connected, supporting one another through every stage of life’s changes.

  • Segmental Multilevel ABI Machine

    • The segmental multilevel Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) machine is a valuable tool for early detection and diagnosis of peripheral artery disease (PAD) and other circulatory issues. This machine measures blood flow in the legs by comparing blood pressures at various points, providing clear, segmented results. By helping identify blockages or narrowed arteries, it enables healthcare providers to take preventive or corrective action, reducing the risk of complications like pain, ulcers, or even limb loss. For our community, this investment supports early intervention, improves patient outcomes, and enhances the quality of life by making advanced diagnostics accessible locally.

  • MAVIG Lead Shield

    • The MAVIG Lead Shield is a protective device designed to enhance safety for both patients and healthcare providers during diagnostic imaging procedures, especially those involving X-rays. By blocking radiation exposure, the lead shield significantly reduces the health risks associated with prolonged exposure to radiation. This addition to our facility underscores our commitment to safe, high-quality care, ensuring that both our patients and staff have access to a safer environment during procedures.

  • Apollo Ultrasound Bed In Addition To Side Rails and Lift Column

    • The Apollo Ultrasound Bed is designed to enhance patient comfort and improve the efficiency of ultrasound procedures. By integrating advanced features such as adjustable positioning, a padded surface, and built-in ultrasound technology, it aims to provide a seamless experience for both patients and healthcare providers. The bed's ergonomic design facilitates optimal access for practitioners while ensuring that patients feel relaxed and secure during their examinations. The bed strives to support high-quality diagnostic imaging and promote better outcomes in clinical settings. The lift column ensures the bed can be lowered to a safer height, facilitating easier transfers from wheelchairs and improving ergonomics for the sonographer. Additionally, it helps maintain patient safety by keeping the bed at a more secure, lower height to prevent potential hazards.

  • Grief Support Journals

    • The "Hello Grief, It's Me" 30-day guide by Traci Smith, a social worker at Holton Community Hospital, is designed to help individuals navigate the grieving process in a structured and supportive way. This grief support journal offers daily prompts and reflections to encourage expression, providing a safe space for individuals. It serves as a therapeutic tool for those experiencing loss, offering them both comfort and guidance along the way. Two hundred journals are to be dispersed throughout the community.

  • Supporting Locals Who Are Going Through Cancer Treatment

    • A portion of the funds from the Stronger Together Campaign are aimed at providing financial assistance to individuals facing the challenges of cancer treatment, helping to alleviate some of the burdens associated with medical expenses, transportation, and daily living costs. The Stronger Together Campaign emphasizes the importance of community involvement and collective effort in uplifting those affected by cancer. By distributing these checks, the campaign not only provides financial relief but also reinforces the message that the community stands united in the fight against cancer.

  • AccuVein Finder

    • The AccuVein Finder is a handheld medical device that uses advanced vein illumination technology to project a real-time image of a patient’s veins onto the surface of the skin. This aids healthcare providers in quickly and accurately locating veins for procedures such as IV insertions, blood draws, and other vascular access tasks. By improving first-attempt success rates and reducing patient discomfort, the device enhances clinical efficiency and supports a more positive patient experience, particularly in challenging cases such as pediatric, elderly, or obese patients.

  • Bladder Scanner

    • A bladder scanner is a non-invasive, portable ultrasound device used to assess bladder volume and detect urinary retention. It provides real-time imaging that helps healthcare providers determine whether a patient needs catheterization, reducing unnecessary procedures and the risk of infection. The scanner is especially valuable in post-operative care, urology, and long-term care settings, supporting accurate diagnosis and improving patient comfort and outcomes.
